More than 35,000 runners are expected at the Pentagon this morning for the 42nd Army Ten-Miler, and the race is shutting down a long list of roads around Pentagon City and Crystal City until early afternoon. The race starts at 7:50 a.m., heads north along Route 110 past Arlington National Cemetery and through Rosslyn, crosses the Key Bridge into D.C., and returns over the 14th Street Bridge before finishing back at the Pentagon.
For National Landing, the biggest impact is on the south side of the Pentagon. S. Eads Street is closed between 12th Street S. and Army Navy Drive, and from Army Navy Drive into the Pentagon reservation, from 5 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Residents and hotel guests can still head south on S. Eads Street by way of 11th Street S. Army Navy Drive is closed between S. Fern Street and 12th Street S. over the same hours, although northbound S. Fern Street traffic can turn west onto Army Navy Drive after about 9 a.m.
Starting at 7:45 a.m., 12th Street S. between S. Eads Street and Long Bridge Drive also closes until 12:30 p.m., along with Long Bridge Drive up to Boundary Channel Drive. Residents can still reach the garages on 12th Street S.
Route 110 is closed in both directions between Rosslyn and Crystal City from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. The northbound I-395 HOV lanes from Crystal City to the 14th Street Bridge are closed until 12:30 p.m., as are the HOV exits to Pentagon City and S. Eads Street. Exit 10A is closed in both directions, though access to the George Washington Memorial Parkway stays open. Southbound exits 8B and 9 are closed until 12:30 p.m., exit 8A is closed until 9 a.m., and exit 8C closes from about 8:30 a.m.
There is no access to the Pentagon North lot or Boundary Channel Drive from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pentagon employees and visitors to the Pentagon Memorial can park in the South lot, which is reached from Columbia Pike and S. Joyce Street. Arlington National Cemetery says the only vehicle entrance today is Memorial Avenue, reached from Memorial Circle and the George Washington Parkway.
Race organizers are urging people to take Metro. The Pentagon and Pentagon City stations open at 6 a.m., and Blue Line trains skip the Pentagon station from 7 to 8 a.m., so riders should use Pentagon City. There is no race parking at the Pentagon. The Fashion Centre garage at 850 Army Navy Drive opens at 5 a.m., and the Crystal City garage at 1750 Crystal Drive opens at 6 a.m. Rideshare drivers should drop passengers at 12th and S. Hayes streets.
Crossing the river, the Key Bridge and the outbound Theodore Roosevelt Bridge are both closed until noon. The map below shows the full course and the timed closures.

Start and end times can shift with the race, so check the Arlington National Cemetery closure notice, Arlington County police alerts and the Army Ten-Miler website for updates, and watch for temporary no-parking signs.
